SBIA mourns the loss of President Paul Moyer

On June 12, 2023, our team experienced a grave loss when Paul Moer Passed Unexpectedly. Our Toughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Paul Moyer joined the SBIA shortly after he and his wife, Susan, bought a house on LeRoy Island in 2016. They came out here from their Brighton home every chance they got and could be seen regularly out in their boat or enjoying a ride in a friends' boat. When he heard about the SBIA, he was eager to do whatever he could to help to preserve our lovely Bay. He became a director an eventually President in 2020. Everyone like and respected Paul. He was easy to work with and could always be counted on to do what was needed. During his tenure as President, we were able to acquire a much needed second harvester, Little Red, which is able to harvest closer to the docks that Big Red. We also purchased a new conveyor trailer for unloading the aquatic weeds and spreading them on the fields. Paul will be greatly missed not only as a leader of the SBIA but also as a kind and generous friend.
